Late in the census enumeration period, I was asked to make the boldest set of web ads yet. New York Counts 2020 needed graphics that would make a big impact in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Vietmanese, and Simplified Chinese. I melded ’90s grunge æsthetics, carnival colors, and clean, contemporary typeface.
